E3 Canceled and How that Affects Geek Freaks

Listeners are aware that we have been building up hype for a big announcement coming next week. Plans have unfortunately changed. The announcement was that ESA, the people behind E3, had invited us down to E3 2020 to cover the event as media. This partnership was going to give us the opportunity to bring all the big news, interview developers, and talk with attendees about their favorite games. This content would create multiple podcast episode, YouTube videos, and articles each day of the event. We were excited to bring E3 to you.

Unfortunately, ESA has announced today they will be cancelling E3 2020 over public health and safety concerns involving the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We are very disappointed but feel like this the wisest move for ESA. We want to thank ESA and Dolaher Events for inviting our team and look for to working them in the future.

What does this mean for Geek Freaks? E3 is a celebration of video games and the gaming industry. Just because there won’t be a convention in LA doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate. All the content we had planned for you, is still on its way. In June we will be doing extra episodes and articles all month long with big gaming news, developer interviews, and talking with fellow podcasters about their favorite games. All the content we were going to bring, but now from our studio.

We were excited for E3 and we’re now excited for our new June gaming event. We will be going into greater detail of the situation and the future on the next episode of the podcast.

Here is the official E3 annoucement:
