Tron 3 has been off and on since 2010’s Tron: Legacy, but Disney Execute Mitchell Lieb revealed on the Light The Fuse podcast that the movie is officially in development. This will follow the events of Legacy but will not have the original cast. Instead, they’re using Jared Leto as the new lead. Lieb mentions learning many lessons from the 2010 film that was fiscally a success but mixed amongst fans and critics. Leib also wants Daft Punk to return for the new soundtrack. They did Legacy’s soundtrack and cameoed during the nightclub scene. The development is still early with no release date yet.
